Privacy Policy
FlixBoom is a video app operated by Key Moment Labs LLC, a California limited liability company ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the FlixBoom app and website (flixboom.app), why, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.
What we collect
- Account details. When you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider, or a relay address if you chose to hide your email with Apple. When you sign in with an email code we store the email address. We use these to create and identify your account.
- Watch activity. Which episodes you started and finished and where you left off, so the app can resume where you were, show your progress, and count views. View counts are aggregate numbers shown to creators; they don't identify you.
- Content you upload. If you are an invited creator, the videos, titles, series, and profile details you publish.
- Share links. When you share an episode we record which episode was shared, which account shared it, and how many times the link was opened. We don't collect anything about the people who open a link beyond standard server logs.
- Device and technical data. Server logs with IP address, device type, and app version, kept briefly for security and debugging. If you enable notifications, a device token so we can deliver them.
We do not collect your contacts, precise location, or payment card details. If subscriptions are introduced, payments are processed by Apple, Google, or a payment provider, and we receive only confirmation of your subscription status.
How we use it
- To run the service: sign you in, play videos, remember your progress, deliver notifications you opted into.
- To show creators how their series perform, in aggregate.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
- To contact you about your account or important changes. We don't send marketing email without asking first.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the providers that run the service on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of the data:
- Supabase hosts our database and sign-in.
- Mux stores and streams video.
- Vercel hosts the website and API.
- Google and Apple handle sign-in if you choose them, under their own policies.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the service.
Where it's stored and for how long
Data is stored on servers in the United States. We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Server logs are kept for a short period, typically under 30 days. Share links stop working after 7 days.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app. This permanently removes your profile, watch history, and, for creators, everything you uploaded. Deletion completes within minutes; backups age out within 30 days.
- Access or correct your information, or ask questions, by emailing us at the address below.
- Notifications can be turned off in your device settings.
If you are in Brazil, the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD) gives you rights to confirm, access, correct, anonymize, port, and delete your data, and to know who we share it with. If you are in California, the CCPA gives you similar rights. We honor these for everyone, wherever you live. Contact us to exercise them; we'll respond within 30 days and never charge for it.
Children
FlixBoom is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app before the change takes effect.
